Native Planting - Clark Field Hill Rehab

Event Status
Scheduled
Clark Field

This corner of Clark Field was originally planted in 2015 with a mix of native trees, shrubs and perennials. Aggressive vines and woody volunteers have taken over in the last few years, but UT Landscape Services is taking it back. We have removed much of the overgrowth from this corner and found some of the original plantings.

Join us on Friday, March 12, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. to help plant and mulch the empty spots!

Meet at the NW corner of Clark field house by the stairs. We recommend volunteers wear long pants and closed-toe shoes as there may be remnants of poison ivy and vines with sharp thorns in the area. Gloves and tools will be provided.

The goals of this project are multifold: open up views to improve lighting and safety for pedestrians, fill open spots in landscape with native plants to help crowd out unwanted vegetation, build diversity with use of native species, improve habitat and food for pollinators, insects, and birds, and make this busy corner a more pleasant place for people to experience as they pass by.
