What does the Communications Team do?

The Communications Team is in charge of outreach for the Office of Sustainability. These incredible students create designs and videos for our social media and online campaigns, as well as represent the Office of Sustainability during tabling and class presentations. Climate Ah-Ha Moment: My climate ah-ha moment was when I watched the President of Palau speak about the threat of rising temperatures to pacific island communities while standing knee-deep in water. Watching this cemented the idea that climate change is not a far-term threat, but one that is currently affecting people here and across the world.

Climate Dream Job: During high school, I organized walks through multiple neighbourhoods in my home city, Hyderabad, India, advocating for climate action. This effort garnered the attention of policymakers and made me realize that inspiring change in sustainability starts from within.

Climate Dream Job: Designing cities that are beneficial for people and planet! So many aspects of environmentally-friendly cities such as free and accessible public transit, walkability, and availability of green spaces are also proven to make people happier -- I want to help implement these changes!

Climate Dream Job: I would love to pursue a career in environmental law and policy. I have always been passionate about the intersection of science and policy, and I aspire to work in a field where I can merge my interests to help shape the future of our planet. I want to use my background and expertise in environmental science to drive impactful legislation domestically as well as globally, and I specifically envision myself working with international organizations focused on climate policy and sustainable futures for all!
