Sign Me Up! Creating Effective Waste Bin Signage (GCSHE on-demand session)

Event Status
Scheduled
Official Host Institution of the Global Conference on Sustainability in Higher Education. October 12-14, 2021. We can't wait to see you there!

What does it take to get useful sorting signage on your bins that is standardized across campus departments? We'll take you through our collaborative campus process complete with a working group, literature review, focus groups, on-site testing, and alignment with campus brand guidelines. We'll provide signage design insights from the journey as well as share files that can be customized to meet your campus needs: our physical sign template with associated design rationale including referenced studies, a library of material/product photographs and photography guidance for capturing additional images in a cohesive way, and a disposal database developed in Tableau to provide a detailed, searchable online resource.

Presenters: Lindsey Hutchison (UT Senior Zero Waste Coordinator), Bobby Moddrell (UT Manager of Resource Recovery), Neil Kaufman (UT Sustainability Manager for University Housing and Dining), Brianna Duran (Campus Enviromental Center Coordinator in Office of Sustainability)

To view this on-demand session at the Global Conference for Sustainability in Higher Education (GCSHE), UT-Austin students, staff, and faculty must register for free access to the conference. Information on free registration here
