Seeing Campus on Summer Days

Lotus near Turtle Pond

The University of Texas at Austin is dotted with tiny niches and striped by grand swaths of habitat that include Waller Creek and Speedway Mall. It is fun to spend the relatively quieter summer months exploring the natural beauty of campus.Look up to see canopy or a roof garden, peek into a courtyard to find native species, and walk along Waller Creek to hear water flow past bald cypress.
