Zero Waste

Recycling is often one of the first environmental behaviors people are aware of. Still, a significant portion of the trash sent to the landfill from campus could be recycled or composted.

UT Austin has set the goal of becoming a Zero Waste Campus by 2020. Resource Recovery leads and manages the overall effort toward this goal.  Several units are working steadily to achieve this, including Texas Athletics, Housing and Dining, and Surplus Property.

We encourage all students, staff and faculty to get involved: recycle right and look for composting options.
